CASINO PROCESSADO EM TRIBUNAL<\/b><\/h3>

Nesta quarta-feira, 3 de mar\u00e7o de 2021, representantes dos povos ind\u00edgenas da Amaz\u00f4nia brasileira e colombiana, bem como organiza\u00e7\u00f5es n\u00e3o governamentais (ONGs) francesas e americanas, est\u00e3o levando o grupo do Cassino a tribunal em Saint-Etienne, Fran\u00e7a, por suas vendas de produtos de carne na Am\u00e9rica do Sul, ligados ao desmatamento e apropria\u00e7\u00e3o de terras por povos ind\u00edgenas com base em evid\u00eancias recolhidas pelo Centro de An\u00e1lise de Crime Clim\u00e1tico. O Grupo Casino teria, alegadamente, adquirido regularmente carne de bovino de tr\u00eas matadouros que obt\u00eam o gado de 592 fornecedores respons\u00e1veis por, pelo menos, 50.000 hectares de desmatamento entre 2008 e 2020. Esta \u00e9 uma \u00e1rea equivalente a cinco vezes o tamanho de Paris.<\/strong><\/p>

Esta \u00e9 a primeira vez que uma cadeia de hipermercados \u00e9 processada por desmatamento e viola\u00e7\u00f5es de direitos humanos em sua cadeia de fornecimento, com base na lei de presta\u00e7\u00e3o de cuidados aprovada em mar\u00e7o de 2017. <\/span><\/p>
