Se fund\u00f3 en 1989 y desde entonces se ha consolidado como uno de los principales interlocutores de los pueblos ind\u00edgenas de la Amazonia y de Brasil ante el gobierno y la sociedad. Su misi\u00f3n es defender los derechos de los pueblos ind\u00edgenas de forma estrat\u00e9gica. Desde 2011, venimos desarrollando proyectos de campo que incluyen la reforestaci\u00f3n de \u00e1reas degradadas, el desarrollo de agroforester\u00eda y alternativas a la tala ilegal. Se fund\u00f3 en 2005 en el Acampamento Terra Livre, una movilizaci\u00f3n nacional peri\u00f3dica que visibiliza la situaci\u00f3n de los derechos ind\u00edgenas y exige que el Estado brasile\u00f1o cumpla con las demandas de la poblaci\u00f3n ind\u00edgena.
